India vs South Africa 1st Test XI, Full Squad: Shubman Gill’s India will face Temba Bavuma’s South Africa in a two-match Test series. The first Test begins at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday. While India whitewashed the West Indies in their previous series, South Africa are coming off a 1-1 draw against Pakistan.
With Dhruv Jurel confirmed to start and Nitish Kumar Reddy released to play the India-A series and Rishabh Pant back, it seems likely that India will go into the series with an extra batsman instead of an all-rounder.
After missing out in England, India’s bowling Kuldeep Yadav played his last home series. Against the West Indies, the Indian wrist spinner was quite agile. Along with him, players like Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja present a different challenge for the batsmen. And the pace duo of Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are in good form.
