Salman Khan Clarifies: Controversial Ad Was for Cardamom, Not Tobacco or Pan Masala
Salman has finally opened up about the matter. He has clearly stated, “I have not appeared in any tobacco product advertisement. The advertisement for which there is so much controversy is actually an advertisement for cardamom wrapped in tobacco. It is not for pan masala or tobacco products in any way.” He further claimed that there is still no legal ban on such cardamom adverts. He agreed after knowing the details about it.
The actor’s lawyer, Ashish Dubey, said the same. He told the court that his client (Salman) is not the face of any pan masala manufacturer. Therefore, filing a complaint of ‘anti-consumer interest’ against a ‘brand ambassador’ is illegal. The lawyer further said that he finds the case completely absurd. He is surprised that the complainant has filed a complaint against a person who has consciously stayed away from the promotion of tobacco products for years.

They argued that it is not possible to give pure saffron or silver tabak for just five rupees. In fact, by advertising tobacco products, he is giving the wrong message to the young generation. According to reports, even though Salman gave a statement in response to their complaints, they were not satisfied. They expressed doubts about the actor’s signature in the statement. Instead, they requested that Salman be summoned to court.
