SSC GD Constable 2026 Recruitment: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in CAPF, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the 2026 examination cycle. The recruitment drive has offered 25,487 vacancies in multiple forces, including Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles and Secretariat Security Force (SSF).
Of the total posts, 23,467 are designated for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates. The SSC noted that these figures are provisional and can be amended according to the needs of the participating forces.
SSC GD Constable 2026 Notification: Eligibility
Aspirants applying for the SSC GD recruitment must be citizens of India. As vacancies in CAPF and Assam Rifles are allotted on a State/Union Region/Region-wise basis, applicants have to submit a Residence Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) corresponding to the residence or Central Region.
Age limit
The important date for the calculation for age eligibility is 1st Jan, 2026, as per DoP&T OM No.14017/70/87-Estt. (RR) dated 14th July, 1988. Accordingly, candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as on 1st January, 2026—that is, not before 2nd January, 2003 and not later than 1st January, 2008.
