Will the Earth be wiped out by the sun like this?

Millions of stars are on the verge of death, swallowing their ‘children’ like demons!

A paper on this topic was recently published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. Scientists said they collected data on more than 400,000 ancient stars from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).

Millions of stars in the universe are on the verge of death. They have grown in a spiral for billions of years. Now, reaching the end of their lives, they are like monsters swallowing their own ‘children’, entire planets one by one. Witnessing such a scene, a segment of the scientific community fears that the Earth may also be wiped out similarly during a solar eclipse.

A paper on this topic was recently published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. Scientists have collected data on more than 400,000 ancient stars from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). They wanted to see where the planets around these stars are now. Are they still in their original places? Or have they been wiped out?

The data from TESS showed that the scientists’ fears were true! This picture of an aging star swallowing its planet has been seen in the past. This study has made it clear that this is not an isolated incident. In it, scientists found that not one or two, but 130 such planets no longer exist throughout the universe. Among them, there are also 33 newly born stars. Somehow, they have been wiped out from the universe. Scientists estimate that these planets were swallowed by dying stars.

Scientists have been wondering about this for a long time. There has been a lot of research. Now it really seems that older stars swallow planets in this way,” said Professor Edward Brant of University College London, lead author of the paper.

It is said that any star will age with age.

It grows in size with age.

As they become, their nature changes as well.

Sometimes it comes out of the body of a star.

The brightness of the flickering flame increases. Sometimes it increases

The attraction of the magnetic field. All those changes

The closest planet to the star has an effect.

That is the future of the world

A section of the scientific community is concerned. According to them,
when the sun is old, it will fall closest even in its wrath.

There are three planets- Mercury, Venus and Earth.
However, according to the authors of this paper, this is unlikely to happen to Earth. Even if Mercury and Venus fall into the Sun’s belly, Earth will be spared from being annihilated. The researchers argue that they have seen that giant stars are not swallowing all the planets orbiting them. They are only swallowing those that are very close to the star. Planets that take 12 days or less to orbit their parent star are mainly those planets that are going into the belly of the star. In comparison, the Earth is much farther from the Sun.

However, Vincent van Eylen, another author of the research paper, said , “The Earth may not be wiped out. But this planet will no longer be suitable for life.”

Scientists are planning a ‘Plato mission‘ in late 2026 to conduct experiments on older stars. Researchers believe that much more information will be known in the future.
